Advanced Open Water Diver Course Roatan, Caribbean
Prerequisite: PADI Open Water Diver (or other equivalent certification with another dive organization)
PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification and the Adventure Diver Program prepares you to be able to explore even more dive sites and activities as a scuba diver. By completing five elective Adventure Dives you can earn your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification and dive such sites as the El Aguila, Hole in the Wall and more. Learn the skills needed to differentiate yourself and excel at the sport you love.
Why PADI Advanced Open Water Diver?
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver gives you the tools to become a better and more prepared diver and to greatly expand your range of dive sites and areas you can explore. With the PADI Advanced Open Water Dive Certification you will extend your depth limits (from 18 meters/60 ft to 30 meters 100 feet), get an introduction to the basics of underwater navigation and improve your dive skills under the supervision of an experienced PADI instructor. Peak Performance Buoyancy and Deep Dive are required and you can choose up to 3 more Adventure Dives to complete the program. There is no test with the Advanced Open Water Course but you will be required to master the skills in each Adventure Dive.
This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive, Peak Performance Buoyancy and your choice of two of the following:

- Digital Underwater Photographer *
- Drift Diver
- Enriched Air Diver
- Multilevel and Computer Diver
- Night Diver
- Peak Performance Buoyancy
- Search and Recovery Diver
- Underwater Naturalist
- Underwater Photographer *
- Underwater Videographer
- Wreck Diver
There is a corresponding Chapter out of the Adventures in Diving manual to read and Knowledge Review for each Adventure dive which you will finish and then review with your instructor.
The full PADI Advanced Open Water course can typically be completed in two days and this certification is accepted worldwide to enable you to explore more dive sites and more places then ever before.
PADI Advanced Open Water Divers can further their training here in Roatan by enrolling in the PADI Rescue Diver and continue on to Master Diver level or begin the professional route with our Divemaster program and internship. Jr Advanced Open Water Divers can participate in some of the Specialty courses, and PADI Jr Rescue Diver is also an option for children from age 12. Any of the PADI Adventure Dives included on your course can also credit towards the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver certifications.
