Monster Goliath Grouper at Cayos Cochinos Seamounts
Diving at Cayos Cochinos Seamounts with Island Diving Center Roatan.
On October-31 2022, Island Diving Center organized a 2-Tank special dives at Cayos Cochinos Seamounts.
These seamounts are located 45 minutes boat ride from Island Diving Center base.
During the first dive we saw several big eye Jacks, barracudas, one Caribbean Reef Shark, several big Nassau-groupers, black groupers and Tiger-groupers.
Suddenly, from the blue, a monster Goliath-grouper came to us and stayed on the sand bottom posing for pictures and video footage!

If you are an experienced diver looking for the best of the best, this is the program for you. Duration: 5-6 hours depending on the wind speed.
Located 45-60 minutes boat ride from Island Diving Center’s dock, the Cayos Cochinos Seamounts are in the Top of the dives you can experience in the Bay Islands. Diving the seamounts are a unique and exciting experience. Pristine corals and coral fans, sponges, and schools of fish are the attraction at this location.
The plateau/pinnacles of the seamounts are from 40 to 100 feet deep. There are several seamounts located around Cayos Cochinos.
Schedule:
Departure at 8:00 AM (ETD) from Island Diving Center’s dock at Brisas del Mar
Arrival at 4:00 PM (ETA) at Island Diving Center’s dock at Brisas del Mar
